Louis Vuitton fall/winter 2012/13

Hello Everyone,

It’s Sunday and I know you’re all dying to see the making of the Louis Vuitton 2012/13 fall/winter ads, which I thought were gorgeous!

The whole train trip as an event you got spruced up for, rather than a necessity is wonderfully evocative to me. Here are the print ads and making of video. I wish Vuitton would bring out a fragrance, even though I understand that they don’t want their stuff in the discounters and they want to maintain absolute control over the image, but wouldn’t it be amazing?

Sorry there’s no QUICKSNIFFS today, it’s been CRAZY around here, hopefully they’ll be back next week.
Love to you all, I hope your Sunday is glorious like ours is. Sunny, cool and a little breezy here, the wind-chimes are tinkling and bonging in the background as I type.
See you tomorrow for Madeleine’s post,
Much love and hope for your good health,
Portia xx

Lovely photos!! Well Portia it seems that your wish will come true! Word is that Jacques Cavallier has become the LV in house parfumeur and they will release soon (or so they say) a perfume.

Wonderful Post Portia! Everything was stunningly breathtaking ….except the shoes! I just don’t get those thick soled clunky pumps. BUT I loved your posts…and how exciting is it about the new L.V. perfume??

Thank you so much for posting video! I LOOOOOVE this campaign, and carefully poured over all the fall pre-preview mags this month spotting the beautiful things Vuitton is doing. Color me still excited for their perfume, too. 🙂

Great post as usual. I miss the days when people dressed up for things. My mom is one of those who always dressed up for travel, church, doctors appointments. Now people leave the house like they are going out to weed the flowerbeds. Anyway, those hats are fun but I don’t think I could get away with wearing one.

    • My Mum was always nicely put together too. I admit that I often look like I’m going to weed the flowerbeds during the day but at work I reckon I could rock one of those hats. I’m thinking of making one.

When I saw the video this was the first thing that I thought of! These costumes reminded me of Ken Dodd and his Diddymen from way back in the late 1970’s. Nothing is original and everything is cyclical! This is where Marc Jacobs got his inspiration!
